When was this film shot? Is the steam operation for tourism or a regular service? Some of those grades looked very steep by Australian standards, is it the camera or are they that steep? But beautiful country and great video. Thanks
It was shot in 2001. These trains are in regular service, but it is also a tourist attraction. The narrow gauge in the Harz mountains are used by tourist and regular people to get around the mountains. The grades vary from bout 1% to almost 3%. There may be some steeper grades for short stretches.
